This list of Israeli, Palestinian, American, and international organizations that work in some way to promote peace, human rights, international law, nonviolence, coexistence, etc. is by no means exhaustive.  There are many organizations doing good work, and we will be periodically adding new links as we encounter them.

 Israeli Organizations

Israeli human rights organization that focuses on the occupied territories.

Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions
Israeli activist organization that works primarily to prevent and raise awareness about Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes.

New Profile
Israeli organization that fights against militarism, works for the “civil-ization of Israeli society,” and offers support to Israeli conscientious objectors.

Yesh Gvul (“There is a Limit”)
Israeli reservist refuser organization.

Breaking the Silence
An organization of former Israeli soldiers who speak about their experiences and arrange tours in Israel and the occupied territories, including tours of Hebron.

Rabbis for Human Rights
An Israeli organization of rabbis that act in accordance with the Jewish tradition to support human rights in Israel and the occupied territories.

Coalition of Women for Peace
An Israeli organization of affiliated women’s peace groups that fight to end the occupation and promote equal rights for all in the region.

Bat Shalom
An Israeli “national feminist grassroots organization of Jewish and Palestinian Israeli women working together for a genuine peace grounded in a just resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict, respect for human rights, and an equal voice for Jewish and Arab women within Israeli society.”  Part of the “Jerusalem Link” with the Palestinian organization Jerusalem Center for Women. 

MachsomWatch (Women Against the Occupation and for Human Rights)
An organization of “peace activist Israeli women against the Israeli Occupation of the territories and the systematic repression of the Palestinian nation.”

Anarchists Against the Wall
Israeli activist organization that participates in and helps organize demonstrations against the separation barrier among other activities. 

Public Committee Against Torture in Israel
PCATI believes that “torture and ill treatment of any kind and under all circumstances is incompatible with the moral values of democracy and the rule of law,” and they advocate “for all persons - Israelis, Palestinians, labor immigrants and other foreigners in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) – in order to protect them from torture and ill treatment by the Israeli interrogation and law enforcement authorities.”

Gush Shalom
Advocates to “influence Israeli public opinion and lead it towards peace and conciliation with the Palestinian people.” Founded by Uri Avnery.

Yesh Din
Israeli human rights group “comprised of volunteers who have organized to oppose the continuing violation of Palestinian human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

HaMoked - Center for the Defense of the Individual
An Israeli human rights organization whose main objective is “to assist Palestinians of the Occupied Territories whose rights are violated due to Israel's policies.”  They work “for the enforcement of the standards and values of international human rights and humanitarian law.”

Adalah (“Justice”)
An independent Israeli human rights organization and legal center that works to promote and defend the rights of Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel and Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Israeli non-profit organization that focuses on protecting Palestinians’ rights to freedom of movement, especially residents of Gaza.

Palestinian Organizations

Al Tariq (The Road)
Al Tariq’s focus is on promoting non-violence, democracy, and leadership in Palestinian communities through education and dialogue. Nonviolence activist Ali Abu Awwad is a leading member.

Palestinian Center for Rapproachement Between People (PCR)
A Palestinian non-profit organization that seeks to inform the international community about life in Palestine and empower the Palestinian community through nonviolent direct action.

Wi’am (the Palestinian Conflict Resolution Center)
The Center seeks to “build a democratic and just society” by “addressing injustices rather than avenging them; dignifying persons on both sides of the conflict; promoting human rights and advocating for peace among all people.”

MIFTAH (The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue & Democracy)
Organization founded by Hanan Ashrawi that is dedicated to promoting democracy and good governance in Palestinian society.

An ecumenical liberation theology organization of Palestinian Christians working for peace, justice, and reconciliation.

Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR)
A Palestinian non-profit NGO based in Gaza City that is “dedicated to protecting human rights, promoting the rule of law and upholding democratic principles in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR)
ICHR “monitors, enhances, and ensures the protection of human rights in Palestine without any division of such rights or infringement on its universality.”  Formerly known as the Palestinian Independent Commission on Citizens’ Rights (PICCR).

Palestine Solidarity Projects
Palestinian organization dedicated to opposing the occupation through nonviolent direct action.  Founded in Beit Ommar.

Jerusalem Center for Women (JCW)
JCW is “committed to advancing the rights of Palestinian women and developing their role in society, nation building and the peace process, while working to end oppression and human rights violations against all members of Palestinian society.” Part of the “Jerusalem Link” with Israeli organization Bat Shalom.  

Stop the Wall
Palestinian organization that uses nonviolent direct-action against the separation barrier and its route.

Palestinian National Initiative
A secular Palestinian political party led by Dr. Moustafa Barghouti that advocates for ending corruption, promoting Palestinian unity and democracy, and peacefully resisting the the occupation.

PASSIA (Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs)
Palestinian academic organization that “seeks to present the Palestinian Question in its national, Arab and international contexts through academic research, dialogue and publication” and “endeavors that research undertaken under its auspices be specialized, scientific and objective and that its symposia and workshops, whether international or intra-Palestinian, be open, self-critical and conducted in a spirit of harmony and cooperation.”

BDS Movement
The site for the Palestinian-led movement for global boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel.

Joint Israeli-Palestinian Organizations

Joint Israeli-Palestinian nonviolent organization that engages in direct action.

Combatants for Peace
A group of Israeli former soldiers and Palestinian former militants who have come together to take a stand against violence and for a just resolution to the conflict.

The Jerusalem Link: Bat Shalom and the Jerusalem Center for Women
These two sister organizations share a set of common principles that serve as the foundation for cooperative co-existence between the two peoples. 

American Organizations

Jewish Voices for Peace
An American Jewish activist organization inspired by Jewish tradition that works for peace, social justice, and human rights, as well as the aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians for self-determination.

     U.S. Campaign to End the Occupation
          U.S. campaign to end the Israeli occupation based in Washington D.C.

          Friends of Sabeel
American organization that partners with Palestinian Christians from Sabeel.

American Muslims for Palestine
Organization of American Muslims working for peace, justice, and to raise awareness about the Palestinian cause.

American Jews for a Just Peace
A grassroots alliance of activists in the United States working to ensure equal rights, safety, and dignity for all the people of historic Palestine.

Jews Against the Occupation
A group of Jewish Americans in the New York City area that advocate for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine.

J Street
A “pro-Israel, pro-peace” American policy and lobbying organization that seeks to broaden public debate in the US and change the direction of US foreign policy in the Middle East in order to bring a just peace through a two-state solution.

Jewish Peace Fellowship
A Jewish American organization rooted in Jewish tradition that works against militarism and for peace and justice.

Brit Tzedek v’Shalom: Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace
A grassroots Jewish organization dedicated to promoting a U.S. foreign policy which supports Israel, the Palestinians, and the Arab states in making the difficult compromises that are needed for a negotiated solution.

Rabbis for Human Rights--North America
Rabbis for Human Rights working from the US and Canada.

Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions (ICAHD)--USA
ICAHD working in the US and headquartered in North Carolina.

Meretz USA
US non-profit organization affiliated with the progressive Meretz party in Israel that supports a genuine peace between Israel and its neighbors.

Organization of former Israeli soldiers that give tours of the Hebron area.

Green Olive Tours
Israeli Fred Schlomka’s alternative tour agency offering a variety of day trips and other customized group and individual tours inside Israel and the West Bank.  Formerly called “Tours in English.”

Interfaith Peace-Builders
Interfaith organization that arranges delegations to visit Israel and Palestine and support the human rights of both Israelis and Palestinians.

Birthright Unplugged
Provides alternative “birthright” tours to young American Jews as well as other interested visitors.

The Siraj Center
Palestinian organization that arranges travel and alternative inter-faith tours of the Holy Land.  Affiliated with the Palestinian Center for Rapproachement.

The Nativity Walk and Abraham Path
These Palestinian-guided walks across the West Bank allow visitors to experience the landscape of the area as well as meet Palestinian families along the way. Associated with the Siraj Center.

Alternative Tourism Group
A Palestinian travel and tourism agency that offers a variety of tour options in the West Bank.

International Solidarity Movement
Palestinian-led international activist organization that uses non-violent direct action techniques to resist the occupation and also facilitates travel in the occupied territories.
